One post a year seems about right...

I think one post a year sounds about right. A lot has happened since the last post. For one, we are pregnant again and I am almost 8 months pregnant. Reid is 2 years old and his ability to communicate his wants, needs, and emotions is growing each day. Just a couple of days ago he was sitting by me at the dinner table and he reach over and gave me a big hug and clear as day said "Oh, I love you Mommy." I was soooo excited. It was the first time he had ever said it to me.

I guess I don't post that often because I am just living an ordinary day-to-day existence. I pretty much do the same thing every day. Get up with Reid, make breakfast, do chores, play with toys.

During this pregnancy they told me to stop exercising at around 17 weeks because I had some spotting. I just got told that I could come off that rest a couple of weeks ago. But I don't want to risk anything and I am so close to being done. I figure I will more than enough opportunity to get back into exercising once the baby is born. And if I don't have time, I will make time! I miss my kick boxing and circuit classes!!!

They told me that they will probably induce at 37 weeks which puts me at around June 8th. So here is to just 5 weeks and 6 more days of pregnancy.

Joel and I took Reid to the Puyallup Fair the first weekend it opened. We had a pretty good time. They wouldn't let Reid on any of the safer kiddy rides if he was under two. So we decided that we would institute the "don't ask, don't tell" policy when it came to his age.

Reid got to bang on some garbage instruments, meet the Backyardigans, ride the merry-go-round, and have fun on a real, live horse! It was hot that day and Reid hadn't had a haircut in a while. His poor little head was wet with sweat.

He also got to see some farm animals. Joel and I have finally realized that outings with Reid are usually more work than they are fun. But you take one for the team so that Reid has fun, right?

You Know You Weren't Meant to be a Blogger When ...

Ok, I will admit it. I am not supposed to be a blogger. I was a horrible correspondent when I was younger, and I am still a horrible correspondent as an adult. So much has happened it would be stupid to try and catch everyone up.

Reid is now 20 months old on his way to 21 months. I am going to turn 25 at the end of the month. And life is just living. I get up, get Reid, feed Reid, play with Reid, clean, make dinner, put Reid to bed, and then sleep. Repeat. Ta-dah! My life.

I am still playing the piano for the ward choir. However, I just got asked to do another calling: Nursery Leader! Yay! The first calling that Joel and I had when we got married was as Nursery Leaders. I remember being a little overwhelmed by that. I think a few more years maturity (5 to be exact) and having a child of my own will be very helpful.

I have also developed a gym habit. I go about 5-6 times a week. I gained 10 pounds with my second pregnancy. I decided I wasn't going to get pregnant again right away and start out a third pregnancy with an extra 10 pounds. Well, I am still waiting around for that third pregnancy and i am still going to the gym. I love it (most of the time) and Reid enjoys the daycare there. We see the same babysitter almost everyday and he knows her name. He asks for her at home. I've lost about 7.5 of the 10 pounds, but I have added some muscle. So I feel pretty good.

Well, I hope to remember to post more often. I was searching through my bookmarks when I saw this page and couldn't remember what it was. I clicked on it and low and behold! A blog. When did I do that?

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the blogosphere!

I finally decided that I should get with the times and start blogging. It seems everyone and their chihuahua is blogging about everything.

I am a stay-at-home mom to an adorable 8-month-old little boy. He actually is very adorable, and my reasoning isn't because I am biased. If you require proof, please see exhibit 1 above.

My husband, son, and I all live in the wonder and grandeur of the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle area is the most beautiful place on Earth ... well, at least the most beautiful place I have ever been. All I can say for you rain-haters out there is, "If ya don't like it, leave! More rain for me." :-) Even when it doesn't rain here, the days are beautiful beyond compare. As Nirvana and Perry Como both once sang so eloquently:
The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle
And the hills the greenest green, in Seattle
Like a beautiful child, growing up, free an' wild
Full of hopes an' full of fears, full of laughter, full of tears
Full of dreams to last the years, in Seattle
. . . in Seattle!
My husband and I graduated college and instantly feel in love with the place. We are now permanent fixtures here and don't plan on moving away any time soon.

However, my fanaticism over the Pacific Northwest isn't the only thing that defines me. I am an aspiring photographer. Actually, I just bought some fancy camera and learned how to blur backgrounds and focus on the subject in the forefront to make photos look all neat-o! I play the piano. I think I am working on about 15 different songs right now where I can play the first 10 measures perfectly and then I fall apart and stop. If I could only put all of those measures together into one song.... hmmm..... good thought.

Well, I can't post everything about me the first time I blog. Otherwise, what will keep everyone coming back? My glittering prose???? We'll just have to see... muwah, ha, ha. Ok, that was one superfluous maniacal laugh, but every once in a while you just need a mustache-twisting, top-hat grabbing laugh. Ha.
